Franklin’s 15th annual Franklin on the Fourth celebration begins at 10 a.m. and runs all day. Entertainment features the best in area community bands showcased on two stages with a special concert featuring the Retro Specs on The Square at 6:30 p.m. Bring a lawn chair, The Retro Specs will be performing retro music of the 70’s and 80’s. The petting zoo is always a favorite with children, and the bungee jump and rock climbing wall will keep the kids entertained for hours. Register for the childrens parade that marches down mainstreet at 04:00.
For the rest of us, antique cars will line Main Street with plenty of food and craft vendors on lower Main and The Square.
The fireworks display will start around 9 p.m. sponsored by the city of Franklin and WAKM Radio. The fireworks can be viewed from the Park at Harlinsdale, from the concert area in the Square, the top of the parking garages and other locations around town.
