Brentwood Home With A View

I’ve been searching for a Brentwood home with a great view, and it’s been a lot more challenging that I thought it would be. When my client approached me with the challenge, I thought it would take me about 10 minutes. but I was wrong. Here are the requirements

• must be within 10 minute drive of Maryland farms
• must have at least 4 bedrooms and an office, or 5 bedrooms
• 3 car garage
• modern kitchen
• a great view
• less than $900,000

To me, this seemed like it would be a piece of cake. But here is what we found, older homes with nice lots and a good view with but really small rooms and low ceilings, or new homes on smaller lots with no view at all, or homes that had both, but were considerably more expensive that they client was willing to pay.

 So what do you do, settle for something you don’t want, or wait for the one that you know is out there, but risk higher interest rates and home prices (they are already starting to go up). She’s taking her time right now, but the panic is just below the surface. If we look in areas north of Brentwood like Forest Hills and Green Hills, we find some great views, but usually the homes are older and don’t really have the open feel she was looking for. I have an idea that she will end up with a new home and give up the view idea, but I could be wrong.
